Simon Maeder

Simon is a writer, actor and theatre maker from Switzerland. He trained in Paris at the Jacques Lecoq School of Movement and Theatre where he co-founded Superbolt Theatre in 2011. He works as a performer with many different companies including Wet Picnic and Punchdrunk. He has created numerous theatre shows and is represented by Esta Charkham Associates for performing and London Voice Over for voice work. He lives in London and has worked around the world in both TV and theatre.

Simon started writing Benlunar in 2018 when he was working on a show that promoted literacy in primary schools. He grew up listening to audio books on tape and wanted young people to have access to audio stories for free. Benlunar was originally going to be one story per episode but after writing eight pages about Lilian Lausanne, he found that he had a lot more to say about the young girl’s adventures. It is his hope that Benlunar cultivates a love of stories in everyone that listens to it. He sees it as a spring-board to creativity and hopes that people are encouraged to write, draw and create their own things that might exist in the Benlunar world.

He wants to thank everyone from the bottom of his heart for listening.

Tom Figgins

Tom is a musician whose work has been heard on the radio and performed globally. Benlunar is his first adventure podcast and he’s incredibly excited by the ambition and the story being told. Tom’s love for storytelling has been prevalent throughout his life, no more recently than a tour of Australia in 2019, performing Orpheus at the Brisbane International Festival. Storytelling through music is a huge passion of his and one which he has found in all work he has created, spanning from his career as a singer/songwriter to media composition. His other work as a solo artist can be found on Spotify and new music for that project is expected later in 2020.
